This large, two-bedroom custom annexe was finished to an exceptionally high specification, with open-plan kitchen and living area. The annexe fits in perfectly with surrounding buildings as it is clad in Green Oak Weatherboard with a pitched roof.

Featuring Black Trim UPVc Facias and two Velux Integra roof windows for a contemporary feel, the annexe also boasts Bifolding and French doors, which give the interior of the home a lovely light feeling.

“It’s a lovely area to live in,” says the owner, “I’ve got a kitchen where I can prepare food and still talk to whoever is sitting in the lounge and it feels so spacious. Simplicity really was key to the design working so well.”

Talking about getting older our customer says; “I’m strongly independent so this annexe was the sensible choice for the problem I’m facing. I like my own space yet I’m only two minutes away from a gin and tonic at my daughters!”

“It reassuring to know that in the future if I do become more reliant on my family, they’re only minutes away. For now, I’m enjoying living independently and can relax because my home is so easy to care for – it was designed to be low maintenance, so I don’t have to spend an age cleaning and the like.”

Life in an annexe has had unexpected benefits for our customers too;

“The process and moving here has created a much closer relationship with my children,” he says. “we didn’t have that before, so it was unexpected and I feel like I’ve 100% made the right choice.”
