Before your consultation

The short version: nothing to pay, and very little to prepare — we just ask for a few photos of your garden beforehand, so we can talk through what you need when we speak.

Is an annexe consultation free?

Yes — completely free and with no obligation. The initial consultation and the follow-up site visit are both at no cost, so you can explore your options with no commitment either way.

How do I get a quotation for a granny annexe?

Start by booking a free consultation. Once we understand what you’re looking for, we produce a detailed, tailored quote along with drawings and CGI of your annexe, so your price reflects your annexe rather than a generic figure.

Can I get a granny annexe quote online?

Your consultation can be held online by video if that’s easier, and your quote follows from that conversation. Because every annexe is designed around your garden and your needs, we tailor the quotation to you rather than giving an instant online estimate.

Do I need to know my budget before a consultation?

It helps, but it’s not essential. If you have a figure in mind we’ll work to it; if you don’t, we’ll talk you through what’s possible at different levels of specification so you can decide what’s right for you.

Do I need to measure my garden beforehand?

No — we take all the measurements ourselves at the site survey. All we ask beforehand is a few photos of your garden and a rough sense of the space you have in mind, which is plenty for the first chat.

Can my parents join the consultation?

Absolutely, and we’d encourage it. The annexe is often for a parent or relative, so having the person who’ll live there involved from the start helps us design it around them.

What happens during your consultation

The consultation itself is a friendly conversation, usually online, led by your questions.

What happens during a granny annexe consultation?

Your consultant listens to your ideas, answers your questions in as much detail as you like, and gets to know you, your circumstances and what you want from your annexe. There’s no hard sell — it’s about understanding your project so we can design the right annexe for you.

How long does an annexe consultation take?

Usually around 45 minutes to an hour, though we’re led by you — if you have lots to talk through, there’s no rush.

Will I receive a floorplan during my consultation?

Shortly after your consultation you’ll receive your tailored quote together with drawings, floorplans and CGI of the inside and outside of your annexe, so you can picture exactly how it will look in your garden.

Can I book an evening or weekend appointment?

Certainly — our consultants are flexible and can arrange a time that suits you, including evenings and weekends.

After your consultation

Here’s how your project moves forward, at your pace.

What happens after my initial consultation?

You’ll receive your detailed quote with drawings and CGI. If you’d like to go ahead, the next step is a site survey at your property, where we mark out the annexe location, take measurements, photos and videos, and bring samples of everything from cladding and decking to flooring and kitchen units. From there we handle planning, the build, installation and handover — and we check back in at six months to see how you’re getting on.
