Garden Annexe Ideas

When you first begin your journey towards building a garden annexe, it can be difficult to visualise the final product or even what you want it to look like.

When you work with iHUS, we work with you to help visualise a granny annexe you love, but here are some ideas to get you started.

Pitched Roof

If high ceilings are your thing, then why not choose a granny annexe with a pitched roof? The stunning example below is our Cantley Extra model, clad in dark grey Marley cedral weatherboard, with double roman terracotta tiled pitched roof and feature canopy.

Green Oak

The bespoke garden annexe below is clad in Green Oak Weatherboard and has a pitched roof. Featuring Black Trim UPVc Facias and two Velux Integra roof windows. We think that the green oak lends a more rustic look to the annexe! This model also has bi-fold and French doors to really integrate the indoor space with the garden.

Cool and Contemporary

If modern and stylish is what you’re after then you will love this flat-roofed annexe we built for a customer in Maidstone, Kent. Finished with a dual aspect oversail canopy, the external walls are clad in Dark Grey Marley Cedral composite weatherboard with Anthracite grey on white PVC windows & doors. A grey decked patio and walkway are the finishing touches to this contemporary granny annexe.

Two Bedrooms

We supply annexes in either one or two bedrooms, meaning you can choose how much space you have in your annexe. Our two-bedroom models make great small family homes, or you can add an additional bedroom to use as a guest room, or for storage.

Truly Bespoke

Some of our customers have very specific requirements for their granny annexes, those who live in conservation areas, for example. This is no problem and we can create truly bespoke annexes to fit even the strictest planning criteria.

Just look at this amazing annexe we created, featuring a reproduction Cotswold stone pitched roof. This garden annexe changes perceptions on what you can do with a granny annexe.

Cosy

If space is a concern, you may opt for a more compact granny annexe which offers enough space for a single person or couple to comfortably live. The Cantley is one of our smaller models and will fit in most average back gardens without dominating the space. Starting from £72,700, the Cantley has a clever layout which makes the most of the available space, yet still feels spacious.
