From Cornwall to Wales, Paul and Susan Buckingham loved their life but wanted to be closer to their family. Building an annexe in their son and daughter-in-law’s garden means they can now spend time with their beloved granddaughter and watch her grow up, as well as help out their son and daughter-in-law with childcare and daily home tasks.

Building Buckingham Palace
When The Buckinghams set out to create their dream annexe, they wanted something both warm and spacious to call their home. Their design choices centred around making the most of their beautiful natural surroundings in Wales, while serving stylish functionality to host and relax.
Balancing proximity and privacy
By balancing traditional elements with modern furnishings and an open layout, they created a space that feels both welcoming and functional. With their own porch and doorway, they have plenty of separation without compromising on closeness.
A home for hosting
To personalise the annexe, the family incorporated custom furniture, soft furnishings, and their treasured family photographs, making it a true reflection of what means most to them in life. They envisioned the annexe as a space for guests, so they designed it to feel like a retreat—warm, comfortable, and full of character.
