Karen and Pete have always been all about family. To make more time together and create a supported living environment, they teamed together with their daughter to build an annexe in the garden of their family home, where their daughter and grandchildren moved into while Karen and Pete live comfortably in the annexe.

The Longs focused on creating a space that made sense for them, by opting for open-plan with clever design to separate living zones. Their patio doors combine the indoors and outdoors by letting lots of natural light in and lead to the garden for relaxed morning coffee or summer evenings spent with family.
Bringing warmth and personality
Karen’s love for art shows through her lovely paintings displayed throughout the annexe. Her canvases alongside the couple’s collection of trinkets and trip souvenirs has brought character to the space and serves as a reminder of their vibrant life together and the memories they’ve made.
It’s all about family
The Longs annexe is a great example that it can become a place where generations gather, stories are shared, and memories are made. It’s all about creating a space that feels uniquely yours next to those you love.
