This morning, our iconic and legendary ambassador Tony Blackburn featured on Good Morning Britain to discuss his recent recovery, his tour, and his iHus annexe experience.
Chatting with Ben Shepherd and Kate Garraway, Tony mentioned how important family life is to him, and the decision to install an annexe in his garden for his Mother-in-Law was a fantastic way of keeping family close, avoiding the hefty costs of an alternative, such as a care home.
Multigenerational living is particularly important to Tony, not just because he is our ambassador, but because he has embraced this way of life personally. Tony is one of our customers, as well as our ambassador. He purchased his very own iHus annexe some years ago, so that his Mother-in-Law could move closer to him and his wife.
This is why Tony is so confident, and authentic, when he discusses the benefits of annexe life. Tony, like many others, truly embodies the importance of keeping family close by, and is happy to shout about the benefits associated with family all living within close proximity. Tony goes on to discuss how important it is to be able to keep an eye on people who are getting older, in the safety of an annexe in your garden.
When Shepherd asked what it’s like having his Mother-in-Law live so close to him, Tony jokingly commented that “It’s either having a few flowers in the garden, or your mother in law”.
