iHus is proud to announce the appointment of legendary broadcaster Tony Blackburn as its first-ever celebrity ambassador.
As a leading advocate of multi-generational living, the legendary broadcaster and first ever ‘king of the jungle’ has partnered with iHus as our official ambassador.
With the support of Tony, we seek to continue on our mission to empower UK families to experience the benefits of multi-generational, independent living.
A long-time fan of the brand, Tony’s iHus journey started six years ago, when he purchased an annexe to support his wife’s mother in later life.
On his new role, Tony said: “With the young unable to afford to leave home and the old at risk of isolation, more families are opting to live together, and an iHus annexe allows you to keep your family close, while also giving them independence.
“iHus was the perfect solution for me and our family. It was a lifestyle choice, and our annexe gave us the flexibility we needed while providing support for older family members.
“It provided a sensible alternative to care home living, and it worked with our own family living situation – you’ve got privacy when you want it, you’ve got support when you need it, and you’ve got company when you need it.
“I appreciate it’s not for everyone, but I honestly believe one solution for supporting Britain’s ageing population would be to move towards multi-generational living, and iHus are the leading voice in that conversation.”

Tony’s iHus annexe was built within the grounds of his property and was constructed without affecting the main house, which allowed Tony to continue living and working from home while the building works took place.
It was designed to his own specification, with the help of a team of expert designers, and with the reassurance that it would be built with safety in mind.
Tony added: “I really valued that fact that the whole annexe was powered by electricity, so there was no risk of fires through gas ovens or issues of that nature.
“So, not only did it provide a comfortable living experience, it provided a safe one too.
“I was delighted with the whole process, from start to finish. The project was completed on time, on budget and was high quality!”
iHus recognises these benefits and strives to deliver a modern and relevant annexe building solution across the UK.
Managing director Trevor Smeaton said: “We are proud to be working with Tony. He represents our brand values, understands the changing demands in living arrangements among families, and we’re totally united in the vision to support multi-generational living as it becomes increasingly more popular in the UK.
“Our audience can identify with Tony’s own personal experience of supporting elderly family members, and we are very much looking forward to working together.”
