Planning Permission
We’re now through to the planning permission stage of your granny annexe. This can be a lengthy process at times taking a number of months as your local authority gives the permission.
Unfortunately, this is out of our hands but we will keep you informed at every step of the process to ensure you’re up to date with information.
Our planning officers have specialist knowledge and vast experience and we’re proud to say we achieve planning permission for almost every potential iHus customer.

Building Your Annexe
Design & Build
Now we’re at the stage you’ve been waiting for – the grand build. First, the core of your annexe will be built at our factory in Yorkshire. Doing this helps us to be more effective in our build – it also helps us to help the environment and it means less disruption on site at your home.
While this is happening, crossover and efficiencies in our builds mean we can also be on site at your property starting on the groundworks. First, we prepare the ground, then we start to connect the utilities.
Your annexe is then delivered to your site and assembled in place on the prepared ground before the interiors are finished and decorated before we hand over the keys.
Prepare for your move
All you need to do during the build process is ready yourself for the move. Whether you’re moving to the garden of your relatives or vice versa, a new start brings with it a chance to start afresh while still having the incredible memories that your family home keeps.
Use this time to declutter, get your belongings in order for your new home and start to countdown down the days to moving in.
Delivering Your Annexe
Moving In
It’s finally here – the day to move into your annexe.
Moving into a brand new home is a wonderful experience and this is no different.
Of course, you’ll have family and friends around to support you but you’ll also have iHus. As part of our signature move we’re here to make sure everything is as it should be. We’ll also be on hand to make any final touches as you start to see the reality unfold. New mirror in the bathroom? Additional shelves on the dining room wall? No bother at all, our team is here to help you with those tasks.
